Edgard Santos Short Story
Tea cup
Teetering on the edge of the table the tea cup swayed
here and there, until its weight gave in and it fell. It
was sure the end would come, but then wouldn't it
come for everything? Everything was expendable,
everything required care and yet there it was, falling,
as they say, face first to the ground, with no hand to
served, a passing of idle words among its users and
endless conversation and what had they
accomplished? Their prize was knowledge and so it
was their death. A simple notion, really. Another few
moments and it thought, as inanimate objects would
before crashing, about the human's endless worry.
About fate and about worth, about money and
expenses. Meanwhile it fell it found that, yes he never
had to think. Not one second did he have to breathe,
for he was just a thing with handles and things with
handles were handled and manuevered and controlled.
Yet it was, that no one could take that away from him.
No one could say he wasn't real, for they all had
touched and drank from him and his task was
complete. Crash
