In June 2009, I added another piece to my collection called “Yoga Twins.” This piece was inspired by my love of Yoga. It is a personal
design . I plan to add a line of Tee Shirts with this design in Fall of 2010.
I also added Serenity Waist Beads to my site. They are made using Japanese Glass Beads, silver beads, charms and sterling silver chains.

A few years ago, I became interested in the Seven Chakras. Through books and
seminars, I gained knowledge about the Chakras and how they influence our lives. In
ancient Sanskrit, the word chakra means "wheel," and these seven spinning energy
vortexes inside your body, flows—from the base of the spine to the top of the head.
Chakras constantly open and close taking in and releasing life force energy according to
your life experiences. Each Chakra represents a part of the body, an emotion, element,
and color. I began using what I learned to help me with daily Yoga and meditation
practice. During that time, there were many changes in my life. I needed something to
keep me grounded so I made a pair of Garnet gemstone waist beads. At first, I only wore
them while mediating. Now, I wear them all the time and never take them off. Again, I
wanted to share this with the people I love so I made a pair for my sister, my daughter
and my niece. They loved them as much as I loved mine so I decided to add them to my
website. I wanted something unique, positive and inspiring. I designed a line of Chakra
jewelry each piece represents one of the Seven Chakras.
Waist Beads & Chains have been worn by women and men of many cultures for
centuries. They are worn by belly dancers for traditional Arab Dance. Egyptian waist-
bands were worn by men. African women wear waist beads to celebrate femininity,
fertility, healing, spirituality, balancing and energy. The Seven Chakras share some of
these qualities -- balance, healing, love, sexuality, courage, self discipline, creativity, and
enlightenment. Imagine all this positive energy wrapped around your waist. I think they
fit comfortably when worn 1 to 2 inches below the belly button. I make single or double
strands. My Chakra waist beads are custom fit or adjustable and made for women & men.
About My Designs
I personally design and make all of the pieces on my website. My bookmarks are made from a sterling silver charm which is also my
company logo. My jewelry is made using gemstones, Hill Tribe silver beads, charms, sterling silver chains and Japanese glass beads.
I started my business, Serenity Bookmarks, in 2005. I took a silver charm from my jewelry box and attached it to a 2mm piece of
elastic thread. To my surprise, the idea caught on and I started getting requests from friends and family. It was fun looking for charms
that expressed each person’s interest and their individual style. A few months after I started my business, I wanted to create my own
design. I discussed my idea with my nephew who is a talented artist. After a few prototypes, we came up with
"The Perfect Bookmark.”
